MTL Instruments Sign at Butterfield

MTL Instruments are to relocate their existing Luton operation to Butterfield.

A bespoke freehold facility comprising 90,000 sq.ft. has received planning consent and construction work has commenced on site.  The building will house the company’s international head office together with approximately 50,000 sq.ft. of Research & Development and high-tech manufacturing.

The operation will employ 300 people and is a relocation from their existing Power Court site, which will form part of Luton Town Centre’s redevelopment.

The announcement comes at an important time for MTL who manufacture instrumentation for the oil, gas and pharmaceutical industries.  The company’s global reach extends to 80 countries and 90% of its turnover comes from outside the UK.

Terms have recently been agreed to merge with American owned Cooper Industries.
